What Is Parkinson’s Disease

This is a neurological condition which causes progressive damage to the brain as the years pass. It is caused by a loss of nerve cells in a part of the brain which then leads to a reduction in the amount of the chemical dopamine in the brain. As dopamine plays a part in regulating movement it is the reduction of this chemical that results in the symptoms commonly seen with Parkinson’s. The underlying cause of the condition is unclear.
